Rich, soulful, and modern vibes build the foundation of JP3's musical creations. Hailing from Virginia Beach and recent Northern Virginia Blues Hall of Fame Inductees, the Justin Pietrowski Trio (JP3) injects powerful, bluesy tones into a high-octane rock engine that pulls from tasteful influences such as Albert King, Led Zeppelin, Peter Frampton, Robin Trower and many more. Pure soul spreads from the stage to the audience, filling the room with musical electricity. JP3’s syncopated riffs and tight, dynamic grooves create a highly entertaining and energetic performance of modern electric soul that rocks the blues of past and present.
In May 2010, Pietrowski landed in Virginia Beach after 6 years of performing abroad in Japan and Australia. His mind was set on a three piece power-trio with the drive and determination that would soon land them as a benchmark in blues-rock throughout the Hampton Roads area. It didn’t take long to find the guys for the job. David Dail on bass guitar teamed with Ehrin Anthony on drums form the effortlessly-tight backing section that they have become known for. From there, leave it to Justin to bleed the blues and drive the band at full throttle through a production of classic blues done the only way they know how; through pure emotion, drive, power, soul and energy.
JP3’s momentum is certainly not unnoticed. In 2012, the trio packed a staggering 16,000 miles of touring. Their schedule put them all over the east coast in 7 states, 25 cities and over 60 performances. Along with independent touring, the trio has opened for several national legendary acts including Billy Price, Maria Maldaur, the Clarence Clemons Tribute Concert which included current and veteran members of Bruce Springsteen’s legendary E-Street Band, American rock and roll legend Delbert McClinton and blues-rock legend Johnny Winter.
JP3 currently has a self produced album 'Out of the Wreckage' which has seen astonishing success as an independent album. Since the release of their debut album, the CD has placement on local and international radio airwaves. Hampton Roads radio stations 88.7FM of Chesapeake and 89.5FM Hampton Roads have played the entire album on regular circuit play. Outside of local airplay, the album airs regularly on 91.9FM in Manhattan, Kansas, 103.1FM in Glasgow, Scotland, and 96.7FM in the United Kingdom where “Pack and Run” from JP3’s album was aired on the “Best of 2011” show. In only their second year, JP3 was nominated as Hampton Roads’ Best Blues Band of 2011 in Veer Magazine.
JP3 continues to spread like wildfire, picking up steam show after show as each member leaves their mark with audiences. They gladly come off stage to meet and greet guests and consistently pay tribute to the fans that keep them going on their quest in their coined phrase “The Blues Revolution”.
